Cepheus Deluxe vs. Cepheus SRD

Which are the differences between Stelagma's Deluxe and SRD? Anybody?

Here are some off the top of my head that Deluxe brings - forgive some inaccuracies:

  • Simplified Skill List without Cascade Specialisations
  • Select your Skills in character generation
  • Roll for random Career and Life Events
  • Career advancement is based on Terms (every 2) and Career Events rather than a roll
  • Elite rather than Noble - with noble houses not assumed as part of SOC
  • No Survival Roll
  • Traits - signature talents allowing special actions often by rolling advantage. Gain 1 per 2 Terms
  • Group and Individual Hero Points (optional) allowing re-rolls or forcing the Referee to re-roll
  • Stamina and Lifeblood damage tracks that are based on Endurance + Athletics training
  • Cybernetics
  • Training is abstratced to a simple XP system per session
  • Small arms burst fire a bit more like MgT2e
  • Optional heroic dodging effects
  • Robot construction
  • Simplified armour ratings with a matrix of effect table types depending on the size of the opposing weapons.
  • Ship construction up to 10,000 Tons
  • Starship fuel is only for Jump - Manouevre Drives just run for a year off their Powerplant (small ships have a bit more cargo)
  • Simplified Electronics - no ship computer programmes
  • Position - an initiative like roll that abstracts starship combat (and vehicle chases) giving DMs depending on your position vs your opponent
Simpler, fast, abstracted in places, options for a slightly more operatic style, DNA still very much Traveller.

I like Deluxe a lot!

I found the answer. Stelagma's Deluxe edition is an update of Cepheus Light. And Cepheus Light is a light weight version of Cepheus SRD.

Not entirely accurate. Deluxe is an upgrade of the previous Cepheus. Light was always a lighter version of the core rules. Cepheus Light was recently updated to the Deluxe version.

Maybe so, but I reckon the presentation obscures the good points somewhat. It's a pity their budget didn't stretch far enough for much decent art
