I have $120.00 to spend on PDFs what are some of the best products out there for cheapest prices. Otherwise, what would you buy and where (cheapest location).

rpgdrivethru/rpgnow/onebookshelf have the market pretty sewn up. Then again their customer service is excellent and prices reasonable. As to what to buy, your choice. What are you looking for?

I am looking for the best ways to augment my Traveller games with not neccessarily Traveller items. Paizo also some things cheaper. Ultimately, I would like to choose the best from a list that the board has found good and affordable.

For instance, someone may find that "In the Black" (Serenity adventure) to have poor layout and graphics. This would certainly dissuade me from buying it.

But, on the other hand, if they would say "Grand Fleet" (which I already have) is excellent and is cheapest from ComStar website, I would have to concur and give deeper consideration.

Having said that I am not adverse to other games, as well, so if someone can convince me. I will consider it.

Hero Systems: Star Hero - A generic space game reference book for Hero games. Available in PDF and print.

GURPS Space 4th - Another Generic space RPG reference book available in PDF and Print.

Both of these books provide ideas on how to build (or add to) a SF campaign (like Traveller).

* The Ronin Arts catalog. This is a list of many small PDFs, but particularly the Future series. This has deck plans and starship upgrades, equipment, and other things. It's all D20 but still useful.

* Fading Suns in PDF. The other Traveller game.

How much do you like (and use) D20, specifically D20 modern? There is a large number of PDF available for D20 Modern/Future that vary widely in quality. If you don't use D20 Modern, or don't want to spend the time to convert the D20 Modern rules to your favorite Traveller system, I can't really recommend any of them. If you are using D20 Modern or are willing to do conversions, I recommend the following:

* Dawning Star: Operation Quick Launch
* Future Players Companion (may be a set)
* 1001 SciFi Weapons (a large collection of weird guns).

As for a new type of sci-fi game I can highly recommend Cold Space & FTL Now, both available from the PDF sellers and also in print from Lulu.com

They both add a new twist to the sci-fi genre and if you liked 2300AD then in that view.

Rog.

I picked up a couple of FGU's Space Opera titles at DriveThruRPG - Casino Galactica, I think, and something else. Good for maps and encounter ideas.

Grand Fleet does rule. As an adventure, QLI's Scout Cruiser is pretty good. For CT & T20, the setting is the Third Imperium. This one hearkens back to the heady days of Leviathan, but I think Scout Cruiser's adventure seeds are even better.

Cold Space and FTL Now are good and cheap, and while you're there pick up some of the other Starcluster 2 products.

Grand Fleet is well written and nice and cheap but, as an old grognard, it does little for me but rehash the material already available. Avenger has better.

EABA and CORPS stuff is good too and cheap with it. Worth a look.

$120 worth of sci-fi novels might do that equally as well.

That might do even better, in fact. I recommend story collections, like The Year's Best Science Fiction. I find those usually gives a pretty good bang for the credit, in the adventure seed area.
