A bizzare but Traveller-like location

I came across this on the web by accident: The Bulgarian Communist Party headquarters (now abandoned). Very Traveller-like.

With the overgrown grass and steps, and the kid looking up at it, it evokes a bit of a TNE-era feeling.

I'm probably never going to do it, but if I did use it (and very evocative it is too), I'd photoshop away the letters and the kid.

There is something Disney in this image...Not right! Not right at all!:oo:

This is actually a building being erected in China...but still!

Any idea what diameter that is? I'd like to know what displacement the K'kree relic is.

There are 6 doors, at probably 1-1.1 m wide each.

The disk is about 7 of those sets wide, so about 42m.

The disk looks to be about 18m high in the center.

So, assuming an oblate spheroid, around 16625 cubic meters, or 1187Td, not counting the base; a base which looks to be 6m or so wide, 6m tall at ends, and about 15m long arms from a central bulge, with a 4m center height. So, 1.5x30x6x5, or around 1350 cubic meters, and thus 96 Td.

Rounding up, overall, about 1300 Td.

Barsanuphius;

Did you have to place one photo on to of the other? I'm getting images of a train going into a tunnel at the end of "North by Northwest".

timerover; that was my first thought.

No, it was apparently built in that mountainous area in a pass through the mountains. Not what I would call a convenient location, but people do odd things.
