A good suit of armour for about Cr 30,000

stealth

SOC-12
My players are starting on Efate (TL-13 industrial, law level-0), and because T5 has no equipment list, I'm trying to come up with a deluxe suit of armor for a star marine with Cr50,000 to his name.

This is what I've come up with:

Combat armor (mostly black, pattern breaking camo)
And for less than 1 kilo extra:
Chameleon option
HUD
multiplexor
PRIS goggles
Orbital communicator
near-miss indicator/direction finder
rad counter
inertial compass
extensible swim-fins
padded knees/elbows for stealthy crawling
magnetizing boots

What am I missing?

I forgot to add "36 hrs life support"

Combat armor is an armored vacc suit. I think it holds that much at TL-13 without spare cannisters.

Good point, Rover.

It should detect WMD. In addition to the rad counter, it should have a bio-sniffer built in. I assume it's small (maybe a chip) at TL-13.

Vents shut automatically. Indicators come on. A read-out is available.

Solar panels? Because you will still need a pretty hefty battery to run all that stuff....

I have a suggestion.

First, Stealth, for Armor and Weapons in T5 check the chapters for each, they have systems for generating those items. Also the Master Text on the CD has a rather hefty list of both after each chapter.

Second, post this question down in the Traveller 5 Private Forum and you can probably get a more detailed response.

And honestly for KCr 30, your jarhead is getting a Suit, not Dress, maybe Armor. Thirty grand doesn't get much.

Laterness,
Magnus.

Yes, a Suit. As in Armor -> Suit -> Dress in order of expense.

And what is the T5 Private Forum and how do I join? I bought the CD, is that enough?

The Traveller 5 Private Forum can be joined by having purchased the CD, then you ping DonM who will work his Moderator magic and if everything is kosher, you will get access to the forum and join your fellow T5 nerds.

Be aware though it does some times take a bit, be patient.

Huh?

OK, I'll bite: how do I ping DonM? And what does that even mean?

Man do I feel old...

Umm, sorry, I thought "ping" was common term.

By ping, I meant send a Privste Message to DonM, let him know you want into the forum. Clear enough, or do you need more info?

You didn't know this? Wow, color me surprised, but yeah that is his CotI handle.

So many names... So little time... Brain cells dropping off by the million... Back at COTI Control... There is a problem... Go to rockets one... Not responding. Hello Major Don, are you receiving? ...

The AHES-13: A good-quality Advanced Hostile Environment Suit will cost you KCr 16.

9 kg, AV 26.
EM protected (11).
Flashproof 11.
Radproof 18.
Soundproof 11.
Psi Shield 4.
Insulated 38.
Sealed 22.

4 TLs higher than the "basic" Advanced mode. I figure that gets 4 bonuses.

Black, asymmetric camo, with chameleon fabric.
I'm going to assume padding on the joints and magnetized boots, or should I?
I'm also going to assume the HUD and multiplexor.

With Command Comms, from the armor chapter.

Efficiency=+1. It's reasonable that it is more efficient than the TL9 model, and can last at least 48 hours. Bonus #1.

Bonus #2. Extensible swim fins.
Bonus #3. Ballistic Position Tracker (this is expensive otherwise!)

Inertial navigation computer. Cr1,000.
Rad Counter. Cr 800.
Biosniffer. Cr 800.
Atmosphere tester (chem sniffer). Cr 800.
Proximeter. Cr 800.
Spectrum Goggles. KCr 2.4.

Total: Cr 22,600.

Thanks guys.

I followed the links and did the PM things, so I should be getting in soon. I sent Robject an e-mail for his equipment list, too (it sounds great already:).
