A Handout for Traveller Campaigns

Really well done, Rob. Looks good and professional, with visual aids and useful reference text.

At first I thought it was too long, but I think it works well. Maybe if there's a way to split the text up with some graphics (or the subsector maps), it might feel less daunting, but really it's an excellent length.

One other thing: have you thought about encapsulating some of the information in a "Library Data" format?

The handout is designed to be given to each players. I took the Library Data that I found on the internet (found it in a omnibus text file somewhere) added anything that was in the Traveller Adventure and printed one copy that the players could use at anytime. It wasn't special.

My goals for the handout was

1) Give a concise (limit one page) background of the setting
2) A subsector map
3) Subsector data
4) Explaining what the data code mean
5) The trade route map
6) The Deckplans of their ship

Yeah it seven pages. But it is not a infodump like if I wrote seven pages of background and library data. It is basically charts and graphics. More importantly it is charts and graphics the players will actually use. Especially if they are in a merchant campaign like this was.

I suppose I just could have handed them the first page and made #2 to #6 a single handout that the whole group could use. There were four players and two of them were really into the ship and being merchants so they both wanted copies of their own. The other two were along for the adventure.
