I'm not sure in what forum thread to post this but I guess here is as good as any other.
I'm giving a shot at writing a Traveller novel in my native language. I have no idea when it will be finished or if the publishing houses over here will have any interest on it.
I would like to know who I should get in touch, and how, if I ever finish it to get a permission for publishing.
The novel will be 100% non-canonical. I'm not looking for a "Traveller official licensed product" seal of approval or anything like that. I don't know if that will make a difference.
The novel is about First Contact by an IISS ship with a low-population, 1950's-style tech, lost Solomani colony of Brazilian-Portuguese heritage.
In their isolation the colonists "forgot" Galanglic and reverted back to a Latinesque patois derived from their ethnic language.
The story deals with the tribulations of the single native that can speak the "dead language" of Galanglic and communicate with the crew, a huge derelict sleeper-ship that will soon fall from orbit, the later arrival of a Far Trader crew intent on making a buck before the place gets client-state status or joins the Imperium, a corrupt government with a great secret, a society that is failing economically, socially, technologically and generally breaking apart at the seams, the purest, oldest form of Catholic faith to be found in charted space, political shenanigans, ...
I guess that's all.
So, any ideas how I can get permission to publish this?
