"Abednego" is a travelling journalist who lived in the Extents until he joined an interface line and had a taste of the Imperium. He promptly left merchant service and took up with a TAS reporter as a personal assistant (he never talks about the exact nature of such, other than to mention it was less "personal assistant" and more "Quote Personal Assistant Unquote" - yes, he does say "quote" and "unquote" with personal assistant). After a few years of travelling he made his way into the ranks of actual journalism professional, and quite dramatically left his old mentor. This past year, in between travelleing between the Darrians, Sword Worlders and Regina, he encountered a pair of human women who had recently left their homeworld - a pair of low-tech barbarians, at that! The warrior was quite taken with him - she still tries to treat him like a talking dog on occasion, though...

Chandra Fordon: ACB87A 5 term Human Female Barbarian/Warrior R4 (note! barbarians begin at age 14! Chandra is 34!)

Chandra is a noble from the Fordon clan of a barbarian tribe on a backwater world. In this tribe all people take the last name of their clan. Chandra, and her servant Gwyneth, found themselves on an adventure - more of an adventure than they'd planned. They now find themselves keeping an eye on a Vargr reporter who tends to be very ... troublesome... when his curiosity is engaged. Chandra is very happy with this; she gets to have more adventure than she'd ever thought she would.

Gwynyth Fordon: 7BA966 2 term Human Female Barbarian/Tribesman R3
Trade: Farm 2 Athletics: Archery 1 Melee: Cudgel 1 Animals: Farming 1 Recon 1 Survival 1 Carouse 1 Comms 0 Steward 0 Art: Sew 0 Language: Gvegh 0 Gun Combat: Pistol 0 Vacsuit 0

Crossbow/2 and 20 bolts, TL/11 comm, shock staff, 4000 Cr, High Passage

Gwynyth is Chandra's maidservant. She's perfectly happy to be out travelling among the stars but is more interested in learning about the Vargr; she's a lot less happy about being shot at all the time than Chandra is.

Oy! *SLAP*

Besides, my fiancee is the one who named them.

Now get to a review of the concept!

One minor niggle: Why would these barbarians know what a dog is and not know what a Vargr is? Wouldn't it actually be a nicer idea that precisely because they know nothing of Imperial society and have never seen a dog, they would not make this tired old comparison?

'Cause you're mistaken and they're not Xena and Gabrielle.

I wouldn't mind it if someone around here were to run a new play-by-post or -email that I could join in; I'd run the Vargr.
