Welcome to the new COTI server. We've moved the Citizens to a new server. Please let us know in the COTI Website issue forum if you find any problems.
We, the systems administration staff, apologize for this unexpected outage of the boards. We have resolved the root cause of the problem and there should be no further disruptions.
no but I used the FF&S stutterwarp info rather than the originals in the computerised NAM I built for the players in my greatgame .... plus a few other items
Not sure it would really work to do a full conversion since there are a lot of differences eg no contragrav, no need of fuel for nuclear powerplants, one drive for jump and maneouver ..... even things like solar power is different
then theres the bigger problems like every 2300AD ship is automatically jump 2 (and a bit) and things are basically just small
I think the Kennedy, a cruiser in 2300 comes out at around 1,000 displacement tons in Traveller, the size of an escort. Of course originally 1,200 displacement tons would give you the Kinunir class which was originally rated as a battlecruiser. No CG would not be a problem apart from requiring different types of deckplans. The biggest problem I could see was the great range of sensors and energy weapons. You could drop gravitic focussing on lasers but the PAs would still have a very long range. I thought of using the same range formula for both with an additional range penalty modifier for PAs which is what non Traveller GURPS does.
