Albedo

Just wondering if anyone has incorporated any of the FTL starships from the Albedo RPG into their Traveller game ?

For those unfamiliar with said ships, in the Albedo universe the design orientation is vertically stacked decks as opposed to the more common parallel-horizontal vessels of Traveller and other SF RPGs.

I will admit the ship layouts are quite intriguing but not enough of a gearhead to do the 'math' as to whether said ships would be 'accurate' under accepted canon rules and specs.

That aside, the non-FTL aerodyne support vehicles would make for nice small craft in the roles of ship's boat or as modular cutters.

Perhaps such starships could be the conveyances of a as-yet encountered space faring race of 'anthromorphic' bipeds, allies or adversaries depending on how first contact events played out.

Fuel rates and drive assumptions differ, and all albedo ships are TL9... Fusion power, torch drives, jump drive, but no A/G, only thrust and spin induced simulation of gravity.

If one can find it, the chessex ships book is REALLY good.

Applause

I must fully agree, the ships book is truly a 'lost' gem as RPG technical manuals go, my bias showing as being a fan of the comic books before such made the 'jump to the boxed game.

The adventure module, The Drift is another must-have as well, in my opinion it would make a nice 'crossover' opportunity for Traveller characters to discover the damaged Albedo vessel.

I never was able to get the Drift adventure.

I've go Zho-Chaka, the ship's book, and both boxed eds.

The revised system, BTW, is both incompatible, and doesn't have ship rules.
