Any PBEM playtesting going on?

I've posted the following message to the few folks I currently have signed up. I share it with all here:

Hello all:

It looks like we've got a few people here. Great!

Let me welcome you to Bloody Aurore, a 2320 AD campaign set on everyone's favorite planet in the French Arm. Before we begin let's cover a little bit of the background.

This game will be very much in the style of the Ursula and Starship Endeavor T20 campaigns I've played over the last couple of years. Here, we emphasize ROLE-playing over ROLL-playing. Of course, you should keep your dice handy and we shall use the rules whenever the situation comes up (e.g. combat, skill checks, etc.). However, interaction between characters (PC and NPC) is expected and encouraged. On top of the usual XP awards at the end of a "chapter," points will also be awarded for good role-playing and player contributions such as character diary entries or anything else that makes playing the game a richer experience for everyone.

This is going to be a campaign that will cover more than a few "adult" situations. There will be salty language, violence, politics, intrgue, and, depending on how things go between the PCs and NPCs, the occassional bedroom scene between two (or more ;) ) characters. Of course we are all mature enough to handle these concepts in an adult fashion, right? If anyone is uncomfortable with anything that's going on in play, please don't hesitate to tell me. However, be forewarned; this is role playing game set on a rough-and-tumble planet, not a sewing circle.

Player characters will be designed using the standard rules found in T20 and 2320. For the sake of familiarity, I'm going with the "standard" prior history process for character creation. Players should e-mail me a copy of their character (MS Word, RTF, PDF fromat will do) for approval.

As I stated, just about any character is acceptable. I can find a reason for a xeno-specialist to be among a platoon of marines or an off-world police dective to be in Tanstaafl. Just keep in mind that we're going to dirtside 99.999% of the time for the campaign I have in mind. A navigator from a French battleship is going to get bored pretty quickly. Create your characters with that in mind. If you have any questions, drop me a line.

I encourage characters to be as detailed with their character's history as they like. Tell me their story: Who are they, what do they want, what are their loves, hates, hopes, and fears? This will help me greatly as a GM to make this a great campaign.

When will we start playing? I'd like to start within the next month, but there are a few things I'd like to batten down first. (e.g. A couple of maps, some NPCs, etc.) I'd also like to get a couple more players on board. I'm shooting for a PC group of at least 4 and no greater than 8. If you know someone who might be interested, point them in our direction. We should also discuss what nights work for us to actually play. I've got a IRC server picked out for us, I just need to get the
OK to run games from it.

All right folks, that's about it for now. Feel free to talk among yourselves. Once again, I'm here to answer any questions, so ask away.

This does sound intriguing........ ;)
