Anybody have a list of TL 16+ items for Classic Traveller?

Maybe an article from an old gaming mag? Or a home grown list? The only one I can think of off the top of my head is in Dragon "High Tech and Beyond" by James Collins Issue 108 pg. 78

Thanks

T4's Emperor's Arsenal had some items above TL 15 if I recall correctly.

There are TL charts in various editions of Traveller that name a few technologies above 16, but nothing detailed that I recall.

Would the Star Trigger count as an 'item'?

There's the Ancients stuff -- the cache of Black Globe Generators; and the Antimatter Brick, psionic disintegrator, and teleport pads from Twilight's Peak.

Most or all of MegaTraveller's items can be back-ported to CT.

Yeah, there is Twilight's Peak, which is about as close to a treasure room full of magic items as you are likely to get in Traveller. It was a fun adventure.

One of the adventures had something called a "shimmersuit" ...sort of a personal shielding. Was that Twilight's Peak, too? I gotta go read those adventures again someday.

MegaTraveller has the following items, 100% compatible with CT, at TL16+:

FGMP-16
Plasma Rifle-16
Neural Rifle and Pistol-16
Fusion-Z Rapid Pulse-16
Various power supplies, TL17-21
Avionics, TL17-21
various comms up to TL20
various sensors up to TL20
various starship weaponry and defenses up to TL21.
fuel purification plants at TL16-17

Traveller 5's equipment draft, in progress, extends this reach to personal equipment.

Tl 16+

I wonder how hard, or easy, it might be to adapt some of the Star Frontiers tech to Traveller. Some of that stuff, like the body comp, gyro-jet pistol, gauss screens and the like would definitely be TL16+, I believe.

just my two cents worth,
Dean

LBB3 (1st ed) lists Matter Transporters as TL16, Anti-matter as TL17 and AI as TL17.
LBB4 suggests Damper-disintegrators starting from TL16.

I've added lots of stuff from the harnessing of nanotechnology (TL13 IMTU, YMMV) including better armour, smaller weapons (pen torch laser, anyone?), Laser Sword (clumsy ancestor of the light sabre), lower output but rapid pulse versions of plasma and fusion guns...
And huge changes in spacecraft once antimatter reduces fuel needs by up to a factor of 100 and (IMTU) allows more efficient use of Jumpspace (Even designed a TL20 TARDIS using Jumpspace creatively as a fourth dimension to form a tesseract. It can't time-travel, but it's a starship that's bigger inside than outside). :)

These are all great suggestions, gentlemen. Thanks, and much appreciated.

One area of higher tech that is usually overlooked, but mentioned in the rules somewhere, is that as higher technology improves an item it doesn't just mean it is better at blowing things up, or send signals farther, etc., it can also mean it becomes smaller and lighter. Or use less energy.

So at TL-16+ I have IMTU things like FGMP-15 type weapons that are the size of an SMG, or use magazines instead of a backpack. Gauss rifles that will fire 20mm "profiling" rounds that key in on your particular data signature, heartbeat, heat, odor, etc.. A pocket comp that is built into your hand / arm and runs off the power generated by your metabolism. Short range comms that are fitted into your jawbone. Meson guns the size of autocannons. Etc.....

There was a really good article in Dragon #108 by James Collins entitled High Tech and Beyond, which give rules for this process. For example, a suit of battledress at TL18 might be better able to withstand damage, or just cheaper, or smaller and lighter. Possibly it could be an inconspicuous item like a ring that could encapsulate the wearer in a forcefield that would have all the effects of ordinary battledress.

Check out the shimmersuit in Secrets of the Ancients - that's pretty much what those are. Except for the strength boost, but add a shimmersuit field to an advanced form of BD and it would be pretty devastating.
