Armor and Law Level

s-feige

SOC-9
Hello fellow Travellers!

I'm wondering, if there are some official/canon rules for personal Armor and Law Levels.

MT has some detailed listings of Weapons and Law Levels, given in the Referee's Handbook, but I could not find any reference to Body-Armor.

Surely, one is not allowed to purchase a Battle-Dress at any planet?

Or wear one - appart from social reglementations?

I've got some ideas for this, just wanted to make sure if there's some canonical sollution.

If not - what are your thoughts?

Have a nice day,
Aldan Romar

One of the GURPS:Trav books, I forget which, said that non-military ownership of battledress is generally illegal, and most starport regulations prohibit wearing even combat armor - but if one feels the need, one can wear a combat environment suit. I couldn't tell you if it's canon or not.

IMTU, weaponry and armor with 2 tech levels of maximum for that system is restricted to military/law enforcement use. Although my players havent' crossed the line yet, penalties will be moderate (enough to discourage them from doing it again, but no chopping of hands/paws/tentacles).

I don't know if they'll ever get Battledress or the 'big guns' but if they do, using them on any world with a law level greater than 0 will bring severe (comparative to the moderate levels above) penalties.
