bunk rooms

Anyone know how much space a bunk room would take up? And it's cost? I know it would vary by the number of people, so lets say an 8 person bunk room.

For 8 people the minimum would be 2 stateroom equivalents or 4 cabin equivalents. This is to cover life support requirements.

That would be 1 MCr and 4 or 5 dTon depending on whether the bunkroom had its own fresher/s. This would also have a seperate dTon for life support and the rest (2 or 3 dTon) as shared ship living space.

That's the minimum. For more comfortable bunkrooms you might want to use 2.5 or 3 stateroom equivalents.

Steven,

Veltyen has this one dead on. Take stateroom cost and space from whichever rules set you're using, figure that is the cost/space for long term habitation for two sophonts, and do the math; i.e. multiply by four to get your 8-man bunkroom.

Don't forget, stateroom sizes are meant to include space for passageways, lounges, and the rest also. It just isn't 4dTons alone.

Have fun,
Bill

Thanks Bill,

If you want supporting documentation, the description of the patrol cruiser in the standard design section has a triple stateroom for 8 marines. Pretty close to your 8 person bunkroom.
