Challenge 74

SOC-14 1K
In conjunction with my TNE RC Clipper Deckplanning, I have been looking through the various modules described in the published TNE materials, primarily the Reformation Coalition Equipment Guide and Path of Tears.

However, in Star Vikings (I think) there is a mention that there are also modules detailed in Challenge #74. I do not have that particular issue. Can anyone that may have it take a look and see a) what modules are discussed there and b) are they duplicates of existing information in the other materials?

Thanks in advance!

Actually they are somewhat new, in that some are armed versions of other older modules (armed 200Dton fuel module[non refining]) whilst others are new.(50Dton meson screen module, 100Dton armed fuel module, 200Dton Service module for 30Dton smallcraft)And, there is also a 25Dton Missile/ECM Module, same as the original 25Dton missile module but swaps the 10 hex AEMS sensor for a 10 hex EMS jammer.

Jim I've sent you a PM with the relevant URL. I've added a snippet about a proposed conversion of Auroras (or Maggarts) into battle-tenders equiped with Dragon class SDB's. These have had their missile barbettes removed and replaced with a meson spinal mount. One to try and model methinks.

Thank you, Border Reiver!!

THis is interesting. Now I see why the Star Vikings reference does not mention PoT. PoT only gives thumbnail descriptions of the various modules, while this, along with RCEG, give full FFS details, along with more modules and variations than those given in PoT.

So here is an interesting question - The 50 and 25 ton modules are designed to grapple on to other 50 or 25 ton modules. Do you think those are a side-by-side arrangement or a top to bottom arrangement? I am going with the top-to-bottom based on the description given in PoT of the grapple system, but am interested in hearing other opinions.

Actually, now that I have sat down and looked at the deckplan some more to figure out the grapple layout, I think it's actually a side-by-side layout.
