Core Rulebook Editions

MadGav

SOC-8
As I understand it, the second edition of the Core Rulebook contains corrections of some errors in the first edition. Please could anyone tell me how to distinguish between the first and second editions. In particular, is there any difference on the cover of the respective editions as the the copy I'm looking at is sealed and I can't look inside?

Thanks.

The revised edition was released in 2009 or early 2010, so unless it's used or old, it's probably the new one.
You'll still need the errata files, tho'.

I have the old book and the newer PDF. I looked at the front and back covers of both. They are identical down to the proof of purchase numbers. Unless there is something different on the hardcopy new books vs the PDF version, you can only tell the difference by looking inside.

Yes, the only difference is the inside. Or get the pocket edition, which is the newer version less footnotes (which are now a download at Mongoose's site, since some of them contain rules.)

It's a shame the recent sales haven't justified a new edition of both the large and small books to incorporate all the errata. The rules themselves are solid, it'd be nice to have a no-markup or insertions required copy (if such a thing appeared, Matt, I'd buy at least one full size and one pocket size for my table.) :)
