CT Magnum Revolver Stats

opensent

SOC-12
Does anyone know where I can find CT stats for the 9mm Magnum Revolver that nobles like to carry? Thanks in advance!

Man...no tellin' where those suckers are. I know I've seen 'em. But, I can't remember... It seems like it was one of the Adventures are Double Adventures where that weapon is listed (as opposed to the JTAS), but I'd have to go through all of them to try and find it.

Pretty sure it's not in any of the LBB Adventures or Doubles. Not even sure it was in any CT stuff actually (though my guess is it is in a JTAS somewhere).

The only place I recall offhand seeing it is in MT.

The basic revolver in MT (identical to CT) is a 9mm 6 shot with the same stats as in CT.

The magnum revolver in MT is also a 9mm 6 shot. It's 1.2kg unloaded and costs Cr300 at TL5. Ammo is Cr8 and weighs 0.12kg. All that translates exactly to CT. Range and damage are identical to the standard revolver in CT. In CT terms I'd say the Magnum gets a +1 (to the listed numbers) across the board on the Weapon Matrix table (and that might be generous*) based on the very marginally better pen/att in MT.

* the CT "Antique Equivalents" listed for Revolver include the .357 Magnum which says to me the stats are wide enough to already cover it, but that's not as much fun as charging a little more and adding to the weight for a marginal bonus ;)

If not the Adventures or Doubles, then, maybe in one of the Traveller's Digests. I know I've seen it with CT stats somewhere.

Just as, in one of the Adventures or Doubles, there's a revolver that shoots buckshot rounds.

That's why I houseruled a "large caliber revolver"... to account for the .41 magnum (10.4mm), .44 magnum (11mm), .45 Long Colt (11.4mm), 454 Casull (11.5mm), and other such oversized revolver loadings.

I also did a "large caliber pistol" for similar semi-autos... 10mm magnum, .41 AE (10 mm), .44 automag (11mm), .475 Wildey magnum (12mm), .50 AE (12.7mm), etc.

If you want, I can post them.

What I remember of a heavy revolver from my first GM, and what I've used...
use carbine's stats for vs armor, and pistol stats for range, 3D damage
I don't know if it was Rick's houserule, or if he got it somewhere.

So...
Code:
             ------- Armor ------ ---- Range ---
No Ja Me Cl Re Ab Co Cl Sh Me Lo VL Wd
Mag Revolver +2 +2 0 -3 +2 -1 -5 +1 +2 -3 -5 No 3d

In CT, there's only a "Revolver". However, both "Antique Equivalents" are .357 magnum revolvers. So the base CT revolver appears to fit the requirements.

BTB, regarding "9mm Magnum revolvers"...
9mm = .356 inch, sound familiar?

".38 Special" and the ".357 Magnum" are both .357 inch.

Yep, I suppose I should have made that a little plainer. The differences are negligible (especially in the CT system) though that's (over) simplifying the entire thing. Good point though BlackBat242 :)
