CT Ship Errata Discussion : Imperiallines Frontier Transport

Look! There's two of them! Hey? How come that one is going so much faster than the other?!

:)

My take to kick things off again follows, weigh in with your own ideas, suggestions, questions and whatever and we'll hammer out a best solution for Don.

The idea is (as I understand it) to seek the lowest possible change with the greatest possible match to the description while ensuring it works with the 1981 set of Book 2 design rules.

No totally redesigned "better, faster, stronger..." versions of "the way it should have been done"

So, on to the Imperiallines... Imperiallineses?... Imperialliness??... whatever, from The Traveller Adventure...

=1000tons Total MCr810.000

Cost with 10% discount is MCr729.000 *3
*1 Note the listed crew of 7 Engineers is a mistake, only 6 are required, but I’d up the drives a letter (to W) and keep it as 7 Engineers to make it the same as the secret twin ship

*2 It seems Imperiallines likes double endurance

*3 Another price that doesn’t match the book

*3 It seems Imperiallines likes double endurance (so I couldn't resist stating it twice ;) maybe it's part of the twins theme... )

*4 No price agreement again

I'm not too worried about the prices coming out; could double occupancy the crew to save a little.

I like the idea of going with W drives to keep the engineers at 7. And the double endurance appears deliberate, even if it's not described in the ship description.

Still the oddity of the crew. And these ships need that architect's fee again...

Ok, draft errata for these ships:

Page 139, Imperiallines Frontier Transport (type TI) (correction): The ship mounts jump drive-W, maneuver drive-W, and power plant-W, but the performance remains unchanged. Fuel tankage of 440 tons supports one jump-2 and 8 weeks of power plant usage. Cargo capacity is 1104 tons. The ship costs MCr 748.8 (including a 10% discount for volume production).
Page 139, Imperiallines Frontier Transport (type TJ) (correction): Fuel tankage of 1320 tons supports one jump-6 and 8 weeks of power plant usage. The ship costs MCr 808.2 (including a 10% volume production discount).
