Damage, Armor & MGT

First of all, let me see if I'm understanding this right:
First hit always goes to Endurance.
The way it seems to be worded, It's not clear, imo.
If the first hit doesn't take someone to End 0, Case 1: the next hit(s) go(es) again to endurance (until 0), or Case 2: it can go to either strength or dex.
(I think it is probably Case 2.)
The way it's written, if it is Case 2, then it makes it seem like Strength/Dex are the only things that can take damage after the first hit.

In any case, when Endurance drops to zero, the person is not unconscious. Only when two stats drop to zero.

Armor instead of making someone harder to harm, makes it harder to hurt, but is simply a minus damage, so there aren't specialized weapons, such as the ACR's Sabot rounds, which are designed to penetrate armor.

Also, it seems that most weapons are a less damaging than CT. Pistols, previously 3d6, are 3d6-3, so could theoretically do no damage. (1/216 chance, but still!) I'm curious as to why that change was made, especially with the armor restricting it. Though higher tech laser weapons get a boost.

Most people are not going to be walking around a starport or station in armor. When you consider that and the fact that damage can be boosted weapons in MGT can be very deadly. In a combat situation where people are wearing CBT armor or battledress the pistol and other light weapons would be weapons of last resort used out of desparation and would not be very effective. I think the rules simulate this passably.

As a traveller most of the time you will be wearing little or no armor and carrying a light hand weapon like a 9mm pistol or maybe even a knife or nothing at all. This will dissuade you from getting lippy with the port security in CBT armor with assault rifles. That is a good thing as well.

Just because battledress and PGMP exist in traveller doesnt mean players should ever have them any more than a citizen of the US can own a LMG or a RPG.

I think that the pistol and rifle damages and armor ratings in MGT are somewhat low (though Golan2072 did a fix for the latter). Pistols should do a straight 3d, while rifles should do a minimum of 3d+3.

Both.

End drops first. Once it hits 0, then damage goes to either Str or Dex (player's choice, but it must stay with that stat after that). Once that hits 0 the character is out cold. Then it goes to either Str or Dex (the one the player did not choose earlier). Once that hits zero, the character is dead.

If it isn't in there, a reasonable house rule would be that bullets do a minimum of 1 damage, meaning those 3d-3 bullets would do 1-15 points of damage. Armor of course could prevent this damage.

Rolling 0 damage from a gun indicates that it blew away that mole on your chin, that you never liked and was thinking about having it surgically removed anyway.
