I'm looking to make Encounter Tables for Robots and other things, but are they really necessary with the on-the-fly generating that MgT2 does?

I don’t make encounter tables for MgT2, I use the ones from TTB, and the 760 Patrons Second Edition from MgT1.
You can use the TTB encounter tables to effectively do quick adventure gen. Probably need to put in an animal/terrain encounter from the animal supplement come to think of it.
