Drink combinations

My Legion post only has hard alcohol based on each member's alcohol locker. Washington drank there or supplied it or rode near it or something. The club can supply the mixers. My wife and I keep a fairly nice bar at home.

My locker now has vodka, light rum, dark rum (appleton), and gin. That is about the room I have. Room for one more, or two on a lucky day.

My Legion mixer choices are coke, diet, ginger ale, tonic, OJ, and several different styles of beer and red and white wines.

At home I have as mixers creme de menthe, creme de caco, bourbon, irish whiskey, spiced rum, and several mixers (3 different bloody mary, 3 different girl vodka girl mixes).

What to do, other than adding jack for jack and coke?

Yup. I thought so...

The Thirsty Camel Bar ( circa 1977) in Oceanview, VA had to send out to the local grocery store to buy some Prunes for that drink.

An alternative would be a "Horse's Arse"...

Ginger Ale on the rocks with a Cherry in it.

Called a "Horse's Arse" because only a horse's arse pays cocktail prices for soda water...

Would this not be better located in Random Static, as it has nothing to do with Traveller, unless you count bartending as a valid subject?

I was trying to figure out what a TL12 bar would look like.
Or a Vilani bar.
Or a free trader's bar. I'm sure a free trader would want to keep some of his passengers sloshed, others he'd want to keep dry.

Meet, greet and socialize with fellow Travellers in the Lone Star Bar. Random topics.

Random Traveller topics. Which has generally been interpreted as topics that don't fit anywhere else. Ramdom non-Traveller topics belongs in Random Topics.

Hmmm. Scotch (Single malt Terran by preference), Vodka, Spiced Rum, Tequila, A big bottle of Synthahol (Everclear) and a variety of mixers.

Thats whats on my ship. ;)

1. It is nice to know that at least my shorter posts are read.

2. When invited to join many years ago. it appeared that the main activity at the American Legion Hall was the consumption of large quantities of alcohol. As I did not and do not drink, that made if quite unappealing. It appears that the drinking activity is still alive and healthy, until such time as the liver gives out.

Or a free trader's bar. I'm sure a free trader would want to keep some of his passengers sloshed, others he'd want to keep dry.

My Free Trader ships are alcohol-free. Any passenger feeling the need to be pickled the entire jump is placed in a low berth for the duration. No passage fee is refunded.

I seem to remember a thread about Traveller drinks but I didn't see it on the search. You could always make real-world drinks into Traveller drinks.

Moonshine = Moonshine, of course
Tequila Sunrise = Trinary Sunrise

12:30 in the morning probably isn't the best time to try to use my creativity, tho.
