Fire fusion and steel, trying again

Ok, let's say I want to be able to translate some classic traveller vehicles and characters into other traveller settings, like gurps traveller which I like despite it's lineage.

Now I got T4 to help me understand classic traveller characters and be able to translate them from their UPP. I'm considering getitng a copy of fire, fusion and steel to help me translate classic traveller vehicles into other formats, which I need to understand their profiles to do fairly.

NOW, if this isn't too hard a question for anyone, which version of FFS should I get: The original, made me GDW which is available as a PDF for 10$ or the new own made for T$ which is a 7$ PDF.

I see the new one has a lot of snafus, like getting the plus sign screwed up and a whole list of other eratta (Boy you'd think people selling pdfs could fix the eratta in them...) but how about the old one? Is it still valid? Would it serve my purposes?

Ditto Sigg. FFS is easier to read, has a better page layout, and I suspect less errata.

FF&S2 has some things that are not in FF&S1, but it's a nearly incomprehensible product. Also, FF&S1 has some actual discussions of technology, FF&S2 really just gives you bald numbers.

However, if you're interested in Classic Traveller vehicles, you should probably get Striker. FF&S is useful for understanding TNE vehicles, FF&S2 is semi-useful for understanding T4 vehicles, but to the degree CT had a vehicle design system, it was the system in Striker.
