Firefly returns? :)

I tried watching that show and literally could not stand it.

But I know for some strange reason a lot of traveller players like it so I'm happy for them.
 
Ohhh and I was getting all excited. Looks like apart from some physicist guy talking about the show there isn't going to be anything more than you'd find in the boxed DVD set.

Doesn't look like there's any news on making more new episodes though. If they did, it would probably make sense to use an entirely different ship and crew.
 
When I first started watching, I didn't think much either way... And then the captain kicked the bad guy into the engines... Since then the show grew on me like cancer. I'm very happy to say.

I am a BROWNCOAT.

It's nice to see it back on TV, it will only draw a new generation of fans to the series.
 
That's cool news. I loved that show ever since I saw the first commercial. A crew of thieves and n'er-do-wells in a beat-up ship hopping from planet to planet hoping to make a buck and stay one step ahead of the law. Yep, that was Traveller.

Too bad there won't be any new episodes, but I'm glad that old mule still has a few kicks left in her. Maybe it will generate some new fans.

Apparently there is now a fund going to get Nathan the money to buy the rights to Firefly spreading on Facebook. So, if you Browncoats a few credits to spare...you might want give some coins to a blind man.
 
Firefly was one of the few SF shows that had a Travelleresque feel.

I'll probably watch it, Firefly was one of the few decent SF series in recent years. As fans, there's more than just Traveller fans of the show. starpirates.net has a bunch of pirate fleets inspired by Firefly.
 
If you like "firefly" then you need to try catching "Moon Zero Two", the first "space western" and hammer films' only straight up SF movie without a horror plot.

If you can manage to look beneath the cheesy bits there's a fairly decent SF film here with some adequate SFX for the time.
 
Not enough "Space" or "Westerns" on the TV these days in my opinion. (let alone Space-Westerns)

Even "SciFi" channel has gone mainstream in many ways.

What was the last good Space TV show on? Battlestar Galactica?

That and stargate universe. I swear I was getting tired of stargate this and that, but the universe show started to develop some potentially interesting plotlines.

So naturally the idiots running SFC killed it.
 
Agreed! I don't watch any TV SF, apart from SGU that is.
