Revisiting my hybrid Striker-CT custom rules, and had that recent comment about how the first blood rules are odd given that the first wound is not that more traumatic then the second, third, etc.
So came up with this, then realized other people may be able to use it in their versions, so throwing it out there.
When taking damage, the first two die (2D) of damage is taken together as one hit on one stat rolled randomly, rerolling stat choice for any zero stats. Any more damage is taken one die (1D) at a time, player's choice as to which stat it is applied to.
The first blood damage can be 'lost' applying to a near zero stat, the player choice damage has to apply to the stat that can absorb the whole damage die if possible.
On a practical basis this could make for more die rolling, first 2D applied then the rest rolled and applied.
That can be worked around with either two unique die for the 2D hit, or designating the two closest die to a box edge or other object on the table as being the 2D damage.
