With all the LED tech going bonkers, it got me thinkin' 'bout how CT/MT mapboxes are needin' some retoolin'. A box that folds out is maybe to "in the box".
Let's replace it with a floppy rubbery flatscreen LED or somesuch, with a patch of interface gear to hook it into comps, but essentially the same tool. It'd be more practical to shove in a cargo pocket or whatever, and maybe better sealed from the elements. A handcomp could be used to manipulate data, or maybe some kind of stylus to draw right on the map surface to make notations.
