We've had some computer problems with the computer that manages the master copy of the Freelance Traveller Web Site and on which we generate the magazine. Virtually all the data is recoverable, but it's going to take time. Because of that, we are expecting a delay in the release of the April issue of Freelance Traveller. We'll keep you informed...

I popped onto Freelance Traveller thru the Traveller Downport link. Is Freelance back up. Is the April issue coming out soon?

We've gotten our problems mostly straightened out, and are currently working diligently to produce the April issue of Freelance Traveller - look for it to appear this weekend, March 27 or 28!

Some people have expressed confusion; the website was never down (unless our host had some minor downtime that we never noticed); it was only the actual production of the forthcoming issue that was affected, because of problems with the computer that we use for the actual work in FrontPage (for website changes), Publisher (for laying out the magazine), and Acrobat (for actually generating the PDF files you download).

We've had some real-life issues come up, partly computer related, partly not. We're not going to be able to get the issue out this weekend - but we're working on getting it out as soon as possible. This is definitely a temporary thing; we don't anticipate it taking too long to get straightened out - but until it does, it has absolute priority.

FWIW let me say take what time you need - you're putting out a free product on your time for us to enjoy, so I for one won't gripe if you need a bit more time.
