Has Mongoose Crashed?

Mongoose seems to do maintenance once daily between 17:00 and 18:00 CET. The server slows down extremly during that period.

And not only have they come back for me, S&P 84 totally blew everyone away with a huge special on Traveller ships. :)

Hi guys,

Just to let you know, we suspect a router problem on the web site, which is causing it to go down for a few short minutes at a time.

We are working on it...

Yeah, I've noticed that from time to time, the web server doesn't respond at all.
Ping, no reply.

If it's a router problem, as suggested upthread, it may not be entirely in Mongoose's control; they may have to do stompydances on desks at any or all of their connectivity provider, hosting provider, colo provider, hosting provider's connectivity provider, et cetera, until the problem is actually found and fixed.

With logs at each it should be a no brainer to find. Unless they are using brain dead providers.

Agreed. That doesn't mean that any one of the abovenamed entities is going to even look at the logs unless the stompydance is done. I have enough trouble of this nature just getting the equivalent division of my own organization to do this when there is no doubt in anyone's mind - except theirs - that the problem is in their equipment. No, when the connection lights on the switch go out simultaneously for 48 workstations, it's NOT a software problem on the workstations.
