HGS is a real blast form the past for me. I used to use it a lot back in the day and I'm so happy to find it's still under development. In fact I once wrote a review of it for the Steve Jackson Games incarnation of JTAS, for which I got paid even, so I hope I gave it a bit of publicity.
In fact I'd go so far as to say HGS was a major influence on my decision to start StarBase. I wanted to do for world and sector map generation what HGS did for ship design.
Just wanted to take a moment and thank AndreaV for what is obviously a labor of love. As someone who just re-discovered Traveller after a gap of nearly 30 years, I'm so glad to see people have automated some of the more tedious record-keeping and tabular functions of the game. One minor question, also: I note that the latest version appears to be this beta from nearly 11 months ago. Are you essentially "done" with HGS, do you think?
FWIW, in case any other Mac users are about, I have been able to install and run HGS under OS X (currently 10.9.2) without any problems using Crossover.
Hi sweeetie, thank you. No I am not "done" with HGS, don't think I ever will be. However my personal life has been somewhat 'tempestuous' for the last year or so.
