HGS Update

Hiya all. My life has been very hectic over the last year so I've not been able to dedicate the attention to HGS I'd have liked. However, I'm about to start work on some major changes and I thought some might be interesting.

1) Fixing the error that Shadowcat and CmdrX detected in T20 powerplants

2) Developing a script to produce Power Projection stats from a
HGS file

3) Reengineering the entire program in Python (or possibly Java) to allow for cross platform deployment.
 
Would you mind if I asked if you would include T20 combat stat generation in the T20 output? I can probably provide you with the basic pseudocode, if you need.

I've found a few bugs myself, though I don't know if others have found them as well. Where / how would you like them reported?

The best way is to email me directly, second best is the CT-Starships list, third best is here.
 
Great tool.

I'd suggest a quick and dirty, published bug list. Then those using it don't re-create problem resolution...

Apologies from you sir? tha man who has made truly spur of the moment ref designed Starship battles possible? I beg to differ... your High Guard Shipyard and Heaven and Earth have been staples on my desktop since I came across them! Your program is no nonsense, and produces polished results for sure, bugs and all! I really can't think of a cooler Traveller Utility...

Looking forward to anything you come up with! Are you keeping it in Java?

Talking of your Traveller s/w, Andrew...any chance of an update for your excellent Traveller Gunsmith spreadsheet? I've definitely found one bug, but I think there are more.

Sorry about the delay, my real life has become very "complicated" of late. Let me know what the error is as best you can and I'll do my best to fix it.
 
Eek, I can't remember now!

Erm...

[loads spreadsheet]

Gauss weapons:

- barrel length increases as TL increases - should be other way round, surely? (I think that's a bug in FF&S).

Lasers:

- add a laser sight and see what happens...:)

- it's almost impossible to build a sensible battery-powered laser pistol. I think the problem is that the errata reduced the damage, so you need more power (ie bigger batteries). Dunno how to fix it.

- I think there's a problem with calculation of max range damage.
 
I assume code = tl step?
I trying to do the ebon raptorous on the software. I can not get to come out exactly
has anyone done ebon?
Or is there a difference
