Hiver K'kree

These are indeed in the works (we have some great ideas for the K'kree!), and the Third Imperium is very much a thing - there is some really cool stuff on the way...

The K'Kree post was around 6 months ago. Any news?

Looking at the release schedule on the Mongoose site (which goes to next April), there are no alien books listed, with the exception of an Aslan High Guard book.

With 2e still being new, they probably want to get the basics out of the way first (finishing the vehicles book and starter set at least). That gives them a base to build on.

Seeing as how their choice of a default setting is the Trojan Reach (at least that is the location covered in the core rulebook; also the location of the Pirates of Drinax campaign also on the schedule), I would say we would be more likely to see a 2e Zhodani, Aslan, and Vargr book before we get a Hiver or K'kree book. The Hivers and K'kree are on the opposite side of the Imperium.

As things stand (and are always subject to change), our major plans for Traveller kinda run thus...

Pirates of Dinax: A mega-campaign we are just polishing off now (we are adding a lot compared to the free version previously released) that covers not only the campaign itself, but will also be the main source material for the Aslan and Trojan Reach.

Starter Set: A new box set that includes a new campaign set in a part of the galaxy a fair ways away from Charted Space. Possibly the first of a small line of boxes that extend both rules and the campaign setting, we'll see. We have ideas...

Fifth Frontier War: The next mega-campaign, being put together by Mr Rob Eaglestone. As with Drinax, this will cover a campaign (the FFW), a sector (Ziafrplians) and an alien race (Zhodani).

If this format proves popular, this may be how we do alien races for this edition - a double hardback (in slipcase) covering campaign, alien, and sector.

So, what about Hivers and K'kree? Well, aside from Rob having a truly awesome angle from which to approach the K'kree that I really want to publish, we also have this mad idea that the FFW could well end up being a trilogy of campaigns, done from the perspective of Zhodani, Vargr-space, and finally Imperium...

We'll have to see how that all goes. Lots in the works!
