How many people are still using Gurps?

A comment in an another place got me pondering GURPs again. How many of y'all are still using it?

I use my GURPS books all the time for reference in MgT games: for my money they are some of the best written, edited, and playtested game materials out there. But I don't much care for the GURPS system. (Which is weird, because I think The Fantasy Trip is fantastic.)
pretty much how I see and use it (and I also really like TFT!)

I know this is a "old" thread; however, I like the idea of GURPS, but never really can get into it when compared to CT.

However, since I like using GURPS for the hex grid combat, I found a copy of The Fantasy Trip Traveller, and that is GREAT.

I just played a quick battle with my niece and nephew - rules light enough for little ones to learn, but gives them something to think about when they play like a boardgame. It kept their interest very well.

However, ::laugh:: who can resist a plea for help from Gramma Nutt to rescue Princess Lolly from Lord Licorice, while Mr. Mint is the weapons/arms dealer and the battle takes place at the Gumdrop Pass. (yes those are Candy Land references so you know my age group of players) ROFL

Just trying to visualize Gramma Nutt in BD with a fusion gun. "Fight first, cookies later!"

She pays for your arm shipments with cookies to Mr. Mint deep in the Peppermint Forest.

As cheezy as it sounds - Candy Land offers a number of adventure hooks, and provides a great world to explore. A strange blend of Alice in Wonderland, meets Wizard of Oz with some Star Dust and/or Princess Bride mixed in.

Haven't run GURPS since 2002. Haven't used GURPS for Traveller since 1996... and didn't really enjoy the experience.
Realized in 2002 that GURPS hadn't been good for me since about 1995... a combination of things that had always bothered me, things that didn't bother me in the past starting to, and being more comfortable with Hero than GURPS, and preferring non-generic games.
