Hull configuration errata

I've just noticed that the Open Frame length multiplier in the hull configuration table page 12 of my edition of FF&S is x3.5, while the RCES Clipper ships used a multiplier of x4 to get hull length.
The x4 multiplier does appear in the hull configuration table on page 2 of the Brilliant Lances Technical Booklet.
The T4 Starships book and FF&S2 both use the x4 modifier.

So my question is this, was the x4 multiplier ever included as official errata for FF&S?

The x4 Multiplier is correct, but I don't remember an official errata being released. Copies of an errata for FF&S1 Mk1 Mod 1 are on the internet.

Here's one of those "yes and no" things.

I had produced the replacement pages for the FF&S third printing, which would have been Mark I Mod 2. However, when that happened our print buyer informed me that we did not have the money nor the time to make a press change, and had to run with the plates the way they were, so that never got made. I still have those replacement pages somewhere in my garage. But until I find those pages, the ultimate authority is my copy of the 2d printing FF&S with all of my hand-written corrections to be carried into the next revision.

And that does show 3.5x replaced with 4x.

Did we ever publish that errata? I don't remember, but I think we did encourage people to think of the BL design book as more current than FF&S where they disagreed.

Thanks Dave.

Was there much FF&S errata published in Challenge magazine?

I'm missing quite a few in the 54-77 range - they were difficult to find at the time :(

Oh look, looks like we did publish that errata. Good for us. Or good for me, as I can tell that I wrote that. Thanks for the link. That's what would have gone into Mk I Mod 2, and actually probably a little more. There was a practical limit of how many pages you could change in a reprint without them calling it a new book from scratch and calling it a new book. And so for the Mk I Mod 2 updates I would have held it down to a particular number of pages and only chosen the most important pages out of that errata/corrigenda/addenda/clarification/etc.

Plus all the additions that need to be made to the book from CH 75&76, Virus Fleets, RC Equipment Guide, Striker 2, and World Tamer's Handbook... Did I miss any? (Those are the only ones on my list of stuff.)

Here's a rhetorical question: Do you think you guys could have made modular weapons (CMWS) any harder to understand or program into a spreadsheet? I managed to finagle the whole gun-making thing into one, excepting that part, and basically says to myself: "Self," I says, "anyone that wants to inflict that on themselves is welcome to do it WITHOUT my help!"

Looking through the Brilliant Lances technical manual (Mk 1 Mod 1 Feb 1994) the x4 is in there along with some other corrections.
