Hunter,

Just curious why is the shipping price for Diaspora Phoenix so very high?

Surely, a trade paperback shipping to Canada, parcel post ought not be more than 5-7US$.

When I was $17.00, I nearly flipped...surely, with NAFTA and all there must be a better deal.

Btw, how can we Canadian retailers on your retailer search bar & do you plan to release QKI products (including the above named) through more conventional channels like Amazon.ca and Chapters.ca?

It is surprisingly expensive to ship to Canada from the US.

US Postal Service Surface/Economy Parcel Post shipping for a 2 lb package to Canada runs $15.25. Throw in an amount for a cardboard box, and you can easily get $17.00.

That said, USPS Surface/Economy Letter Post shipping for a 2 lb package to Canada runs $5.60.

Letter post covers envelopes and packages that are four lbs or less and are relatively small (length < 24" and length + height + depth < 36"). So, the combined weight of the book + packaging + box may be > 4 lbs. 4 lbs, 1 ounce drops the package into the parcel post rate.

Assuming you meant you want to know how to add Canadian retailers to the retailer locator...looks to me like you just go to the retailer locator and click on the "if you are a retailer you may "click here to add your store" link. Looked fairly self-explanatory to me on a Monday.

I'll have to agree with Kafka, this price is ridiculous: last time I ordered something from the US (computer game and a fair sized book), the cost was 8.00$US. And I got it in a week.

I'll need another shipping option before I can consider buying the book.

On a side note, are there any Canadian retailors that will carry Diaspora Phoenix?

None that I know of...

Perhaps, we Canadians can organize a buying cooperative akin to what the Brits are doing. Does someone want to act as a distribution hub? (I cannot due to mortage commitments)
