Hyaloid Globe?

Hyaloid is just another word for Transparent.

What do you think it would take to modify a Black Globe or White Globe to be Transparent?

Just changing the frequency of light output? Change to Infrared or Ultraviolet?

Makes me think of a T5 modification. What little I know of T5.

Anyone want to try this? It would make more Sci-Fi'ish Shields/Screens.

If it is transparent to a particular frequency then that frequency of laser light can go through the screen and damage the ship.

A black globe looks black because it absorbs all the em radiation hitting it, a white globe looks white because it absorbs and then radiates and scatters em radiation that hits it. A silver globe reflects the em radiation hitting it.

Maybe you could try to make it blink at certain frequencies.

Which is how you fire out of a black globe. The interesting one is the white globe since you can shoot stuff out but nothing gets in - and that includes sensor data. So to locate your target you would have to flicker your white globe, or rely on psionics.

Better hope the Zhodani don't get their minds around Black Globe tech then ... if psionics can "get through" a Black Globe field.
You aren't psionically scrying the ship itself, but rather the minds of the crew within it.
Range would be a problem though, since your psionicist would need to be able to scan multiple light-seconds worth of distance to be useful.

Basically a Psi Corps P10 at minimum, I'm thinking.
