I have it

Ben W Bell

SOC-14 1K
Peer of the Realm
It has arrived in my hands, picked it up from the store today. Gateway to Destiny. Nice to have it in hardcopy form. Very nice, though one issue you can tell that the cover was printed from a computer image as it is pixellated.

Nah, screw up with the wrong version of the cover getting into the printer's hands. My fault on that one.

So how much distortion are we talking about here? Or is it only for the trained eye to tell the difference. But, I also have a few questions for our esteemed Ancients who have done a wonderful job with this sourcebook.

Hunter & Co...a few questions...

Have you shipped it out to your distributors? (esp. your Canadian ones)

Also, is there a chance that we could see a 1248 sourcebook right directly on the heels of the Players Handbook?

What is the likelihood of seeing an Alien sourcebook or two in 2005 eg. a revisited K'kree/Hiver Alien Module...

If GDW owns the Lords of Thunder adventure, is there a possibility that QKL could reprint the module but containing T20 stats?

I didn't think it was bad. In fact, it's barely noticible. I thought it was just a poor transfer from the plates to the paper. But I'm used to working with newspapers, so my standards (for art reproduction) might be lower than some people's.

Hunter,
What's the problem with the pre-order shipments? I was contacted by email 3 weeks ago to verify my address. I replied with confirmation of my address and I have also sent 3 follow up emails but have heard nothing and have not seen my order!

Some help here would be appreciated.

They are in stock with Lion Rampant in Canada

Doubtful. The book isn't done.

Both possible.

It should have gone out. Email me again directly (grip@RPGRealms.com) with your username and 'Missing Order' in the subject and I will watch for it to arrive. Shoot me the order number as well. I should be able to give you a Priority Mail tracking number for it.

Hunter, just want to let you and others know that the first of the Lion Rampant shipments to retailers have hit the shelves in the last few days. I picked up my copy yesterday at my FLGS in Ottawa (Fandom II) ((flagrant plug....)). ;)

I want to complement you and MJD on the high quality of the final product. The time and effort spent in "getting it right" is obvious. It's too bad you couldn't include all of the work that was submitted for it (like my Bestiary stuff), but I understand how the economics of it work.

This is my favourite Traveller product ever (at least until Starfall comes out :D ).

Congratulations,

Paul Nemeth

It's noticable at about just over a foot out or close reading distance to me. Granted I was looking for it and can fiddle around with digital images. Aside from that it looks good though I had a little trouble distinguishing features on the planetary maps. The pdf version looks just a shade lighter on the greys and I have problems distinguishing similar greys anyway. If there were any color maps made of the planets it'd be very cool if someday they were added to the Moot. ;)

I do like that it has the "bend" towards the spine on the front and back covers making it easier to leave the book open.

No d20 Logo on the front or back of the book. :( Concerned that the naked Beree on page 24 might not pass muster? ^_^

Well we didn't want any legal hassles but felt a need to display in its 'raw' essence so to speak...

Seriously though, the THB and the upcoming player book will carry the d20 logo, but the rest of the line and the new HH and Aldenata books will not. They will be tied to the T20 line not d20. Though they will contain OGL content.

Best keep the book away from yip lap dogs then! o.o

Cool. That makes sense. The book does have the Traveller20 logo prominently displayed at the bottom of the front cover as per the preview image. I had the satisfaction of opening the book to page 47 and going "See all these dots? Those are worlds and they're all in this book." (evil smile) There were teenagers around so I flipped past page 24.

So...if the Player;s Handbook is next...will it be ready for GenCon? You have wet my appetite for T20 products and Traveller timeline expansion. Is there a chance for more freebies or at least some discussion about what distant dreams that you hope to develop for the line.

I am glad to hear that the Canadian distributors have picked it up...only a matter of time before we hear from the Sentry Box...I suppose that plus Nobles will really make June a fun month.

Come on guys...you know how much we want to see the future of Traveller. Couldn't we have 1248 by Christmas this year...the way MJD seems to be writing...I was hoping for a September/October release.

</font>[/QUOTE]Hunter, please with all my heart, I ask that you get permission for the reprint of the Lords of Thunder in paper form.

This one move would certainly do wonders for T20 sales amongst the stodgy older timers and provide a great adventure to play in the Gateway sector. With a small appendium (say, 10-20 pages) that could have the events that would lead up revising Gateway to Destiny in 1248.

The vargr's sword sort of sticks out. You know if you have a low-res picture and a straight diagononal line looks sort of "jagged"? That's what is going on here.

Other than that, the only problem I have really with the cover is the face of the guy at the top. He looks all deformed or something, the wrinkles look like they're in the wrong places!
