Imperial Surplus Equipment [?]

I really loved the section in T4's Central Supply Catalog dealing with Imperial Surplus equipment. Does anyone have any thoughts as to how that might be applicable to other Traveller campaigns? I'd be interested in how it could be used in the Marches in 1105. So would my scout character

It's great when you want to buy in bulk.

In MTU, I have Imperial Army surplus being more common. Stuff like flack jackets, CBE suits, boots, & BDUs being the most common. If the players hunt harder they cand find stuff like surplus grav vehicles, field kitchens, etc.

The Imperial Navy & Marine stuff is harder to find, and typically a slightly better quality.

I have an Imperial Services Surplus that combines all Imperial services into one surplus outlet. The PCs in my T20 adventure playtest group bought (among other things) a bunch of Scout Service 'Amaze the Natives' kits before heading for a low-tech world.

If you can only get one thing out of Imperial Surplus you have to get the mobile field fabrication unit. After that you can build everything else, not to mention other useful items for situations like, "where can I find a containment field generator for the ship's fusion plant out here,at this hour?". And all the other goodies a well heeled traveller needs like why should Imperial Marines have all the fun with battledress with a MFFU you can have your do-it-yourself TL-10 battledress not quit as good as the frontline stuff but better than what everyone else has got.

I have seen imperial surplus combat environment suits on Tarsus (good cold weather clothing).

One of the travellers digest adventures with the famous four had the IISS giving some TL=12 basic air/rafts to a world in the old expanses. And don't forget the old azhantis, about 6 of them were decommissioned, weapons / troops quarters / fighter hangers removed and sold to various commercial concerns as high jump transports.
