Interstellar Wars conversion

OK, having placed most of my Traveller games for the last 18 years in the "Terran-Vilani war" period (I used post 4FW before that), I finally (today) got a copy of GURPS: Interstellar Wars... so I now have "official" info on the period.

Any advice for using the GURPS material for a CT campaign?

Yeah.

From what I have been reading you might wanna Canon Check it.

But somewhere I have a copy as well and did dig it. IIRC it fills in some of the bigger holes in the histories...

Well, I'm not worried about canon... since I have already converted the "Ramshackle Empire" period (2nd [Solomani] Imperium) into a prolonged period of "warm truce".

Basically, at the end of the ~200 years of the "1st-Nth Interstellar Wars", the Terran Confederation fights the Imperium to a standstill at the point where the two rifts form a "choke-point" between the two spheres of influence.

A 400 year stand-off ensues, culminating in a final cataclysmic campaign which triggers the economic crisis which causes "Long Night".

I want to expand beyond my reverse-engineered Reaver's Deep, and open up more of the disputed territories and the Aslan-Terran border areas.

All I am looking for is something to make setting up the background, tech levels, etc easier.
