Mostly just a line/design in photoshop test, and testing posting images to the board >.<. Maxed out on my gallery posts. Inspired by Bryan Gibson's pieces.

That is a pity :( And you aren't the first. I'm gonna suggest we (Andrew and Marc ;) ) do something about that. Maybe we (they) can up the gallery sizes. I seem to recall Moot membership had some extra gallery goodies but I never used them. Just album tools iirc though. Might be something to look at too.

I'd um, personally purchase CoiT a bigger HD if space is an issue (well, advance the cash to whomever runs the host machine to buy one if the restrictions on gallery max files uploading were removed). Memory's cheap - my initial idea was a .5 terrabyte HD was around $100, but apparently its gone down even more since when I last checked.

The idea of limiting subscriber's ability to provide free content for a game's fansite is kinda odd to me.

I understand its hard to come up with a good spread of Moot subscription incentives, but paying for a slightly expanded ability to share free content back to the community seems a little backwards.

I could fill the Moot's limit of images at my current rate in about 5 months, and I'd be done, and even if you're not a fan of my stuff - well, there's plenty of other artists that have provided much better stuff than mine, and I'd think you'd want to attract/keep showing off their Traveller themed stuff, that's all I'm saying. :)

I'm with you 100% Seriayne :) I wasn't actually suggesting we do a Moot membership larger gallery, just that I seemed to recall it was there. Yep, ideas for Moot benefits are tough that way, and making one pay to have more room to add more free crunchy arty goodness seems silly. Though buying a bigger drive for CotI would be kinda the same thing ;)

Anyway, I've posted the suggestion for more space and we'll have to wait and see what the Boss can work out.

Thankyou very much, all I could ask for. :>

If its bandwidth, what you want to do is throttle down the number of uploads over time, not the total over the lifespan of an account.

Figure out what your bandwidth allowance over time is, for art, ballpark. Leave plenty of wiggle room for new memberships, both regular CoiT registrants and Moot membership.

Divide that by three. 1/3rd is total non-moot file uploads per timeperiod (x uploads per week, month whatever), and double that rate is reserved for Moot memberships. You have your Moot incentive (I'd be there in a heartbeat), and you keep control of your bandwidth usage, as well as archive the artwork over the years.

I'll make no bones about it, I want to show off my artwork, bragging rights et al, and even entertain the idea taking of requests, but I don't want to wear out my welcome or cut into other people's time/enjoyment of the boards or increase its costs either.

I have elsewhere I can post my work for showing off etc., but this is the only place where people know what the heck Traveller is, where its much more likely some of it may actually get used by someone else.

:)
