Description

Zahira (and yes, it’s just Zahira) is a tall, slender woman of Solomani descent. Although she is not an immortal she has lived for many, many years. She is an ageless beauty, just under six feet tall and weighs 120 pounds. She has hazel eyes, long black hair and fine Persian features. She is of noble lineage and carries herself accordingly.

During her early years she was encouraged by her mother to learn all that she could so that she could grow up to be an independent minded woman. She learned all about art, languages, herbs, good food, and good manners. Good wine would be included except for the fact that she has a severe reaction to alcohol (not a pretty sight). Falcons became her greatest love and are her constant companions. After her parents died her older brother became head of the family and disowned her.

She became a courtesan out of necessity. Because of her upbringing she became highly sought after. She was able to name her price and to spend her free time as she wished. She learned the martial arts as a way to keep fit and to be able defend herself against unwanted advances or unruly clients. She does not carry a weapon as she is able to defend herself without any. However, she is proficient with a wide variety of weapons used in the martial arts.

Since she has not showed any sign of advanced age, she moves every few years to avoid curiosity and suspicion. She has become rather wealthy during her lifetime and although she has, for all practicable purposes, retired she will still take on a client if she needs money or, more likely, is bored. She also earns money as a linguist and as a performer.

She never married and has no children. Although she has never returned to her homeland she has fond memories of it.

Hobbies/Interests Interest in lost STL colony ships. Would love to meet someone from the distant past. Has a medium-sized library on the subject and some small artifacts from colony slowboats.
Enjoys trying to figure out the rules of unfamiliar sports. Favorite sports:Ender's Game and Mathematics (considers mathematics a sport). Reads. Under stress, eats. Has the typical veteran's interest in the food supply.

Goals: In the short-term, Heron wants to make some money. He is very loyal to his family, and although they are comfortably off, they live on a rented asteroid. He wants to buy them an independant habitat. He makes a living wage as a cop, but skiptracers work on commission. That's his job anyway, going after ships that don't want to be found. And he's got an interesting theory on how to detect tampered ID transponders. He figures he can spend a year or two tracking down loan defaulters. He will send at least half of any spare money he makes back to his family. In the long run, he wants to expand this new home asteroid and help his family gain political and social status. He would like to visit any colony slowboats. He would love to find and board one of the lost ones.

For any who might be interested;

I am getting ready to start a TNE PbEM. Should start in two-four weeks. The setting is an armed merchant on RCES survey mission into the wilds. Crew of ten, posed as a free-lance Wilds trader doing intell and mercantile espionage in the area around the Coalition.

I've been running RPG's since 1975, Traveller in its many versions since 1978. No, I'm not interested in GM'ing Classic or MegaTraveller at this time and have no foreseeable interest in GURPS or D20 versions. Characters have to fit into the right mix for the game. A Trader/Merchant ship owner, a pilot, an astrogator, a ship's engineer, an electrician, a commo/sensors operator, a Steward/ship's doctor, two gunners/ships troops and an RCES intell op with the position of supercargo on the ship.
