Mayday/Book 2

Was there ever a computer version of the MAYDAY/CT Book 2 space battle system (turn-based, no real time junk)?
Maybe a fan project?

Not that I know of.
What I'd like to see in this regard is, abouve all, a vector movement tracker; input the direction and thrust, and the program will calculate your vector and move your ship/missile across the virtual "board". Ofcourse, a full combat simulator would be nice and useful, but some players just like to roll their dice themselves (so a program with full combat simulation should have an "input die result" option).

About half way down "The Engineer" has a program
called Test Drive hilighted to download.
It's not complete but interesting. I wonder
if the gentleman is working on it...

Has anyone thought about using Vassal or Cyberboard to make a vector tracking game board? Someone has made a Triplanetary cyberboard gamebox. Its available on boardgamegeek.

There's a related (freeware) product called GameTable which has been out a couple years. It supports a networkable "whiteboard" RPG playing surface in Java. Nowhere near as full-featured as MapTool.
