I recall from the last Traveller's Digest, an article about MT designs, new features and "canon" changes-such as simple life support in the fuel tanks and changing the fuel consumption rates-fuel power vs normal power vs minimal power. Anyone know what other modifications GDW and DG were using to make their ships-such as the "Fiery" class gunned escorts?

Fuel consumption tricks and the (relatively subtle by comparison) exclusion of most LS systems from the fuel tank volume were the big two. Power/Fuel needs were the big break in MT, and fixing it was what allowed designs that approached the CT/HG "standard" again.
