G'day all,

this is my first post as a citizen so be kind :)

is anyone out there using the GRIP software? I have just purchased it and am wallowing a bit.

are there any useful links to GRIPlets and the like. I am sure that if i could see a few things in action i could reverse engineer them so to speak and understand what it is i am trying to do a little better.

any advice would be appreciated

thanks :)

I ran my Traveller game on-line for about 18 months using the software. Not bad, buggy but not bad, I just wish they would support it and continue it's development.

Anyway. What exactly is it that you would like to know? I never really used GRIPlets but I did spend many an hour developing my own version of the character sheet for Megatraveller which works quite comprehensively. Any questions I'll try to answer them.

I spent a fair bit of time on GRIPlets and on character sheets. Was playing online until the demo period ran out.... the fellow in our group who owns the game and bought it misplaced the e-mail from the company (rpgrealms?) and has never got a response despite repeated mailings. So, since we can't find the original code and they won't answer our mail, I can't do anything more with it.

I too think the program had a lot of potential. I hated the interface, frankly. It needed to be able to use multiple windows, instead of switching between, in order to be more useful. And some other behaviours were quirky or poorly explained.

If Hunter had more time, I'm sure he'd have done some more on it. It has a lot of potential as an on-line gaming tool, and realizes about 66% of it.

Anyway, if you have specific questions, maybe some of us can offer you some guidance.

Hmm, back in January. Did you get the information you were looking for Tubel? Like Ben I developed my own MegaT character sheet, but unlike him I'm using both griplets and entities.

I see you found your way to the GRiPlist, so you'll have plenty of templates to choose from amongst the files section. Brian Perkin's Hefry Starport http://www.geocities.com/Area51/Atlantis/3631/Traveller/Main.html and GameKnight's http://www.castlegk.com/grip/stuff.html are also good sources of griplets and a custom charcter sheet or two.
