New guy wondering about core products

Hi . I just joined these forums after picking up a copy of the old T20 Traveller's Handbook from 2002. I've also noticed what seems to be this very same product, split into 3 ebooks on dtrpg.com. Finally, and the product I'm really curious about, is the Traveller's Guidebook for Players. This seems (from the previews) to offer a lot more options than the core products (at least as far as character creation is concerned). So, about the Traveller's Guidebook for Players: I know it repeats a lot of information, but does it add enough to the core book to justify getting it? Are there any new psionics or gear, or is it just new classes, feats, and skills?
Thanks!

I don't have the pdf files, but I believe that, yes, they are basically the T20 Handbook broken down into 3 sections.

The T20 Traveller's Guidebook for Players mainly just expands character creation and options, adding about 10 more classes and careers, as well as more school/university/academy options.

There is some expansion of feats and equipment but not what I'd consider a lot of new stuff.

However, the Players book does not have any vehicles or space/starships, and does not have the rules to create original vehicles and space/starships.

The sections dealing with combat and adventuring are cleaner and better laid-out than the original T20 Handbook, IMO. In fact I think the layout overall is much cleaner than the original Handbook.

I certainly think the Player's book is worthwhile but I hope this helps you decide if it is right for you.

I like it too. I think it has enough new material for the price. It has a lot of equipment that's referenced in the TAS and .pdf adventures so its good to have it all in one place.

My advice is to skip the Book 1 of the T20 Guide (Characters and Combat) and purchase the Handbook and Books 2 & 3. I haven't opened Book 1 since I bought the Handbook.
