News?

Is there any likelyhood that after T20 is released (or maybe even before, he says hopefully) we'll see the storyline advance through more updated news releases? (like CT, MT and GT)

This is something I would definately like to do. Of course we may need a little help coming up with good material on a regular basis.

Speaking of which, how often should TAS News Bulletins be release? Once a month? Weekly?

Daily? (ducks for cover). Seriously though, I think weekly is the best, definitely not less than monthly.

I have to agree with weekly to monthy...think about it, how many other game systems has news updates for it's "universe", either in a periodical and/or on the internet? This isn't a flame of TSR's D&D, just using them as an example, but unless I'm wrong about this, I've never seen something like "herald's announcments" or whatever they would want to call it...maybe someone else has copied the idea now, but such is one of the many ways that keeps Traveller, regardless of time period/ruleset alive IMHO.

But then again, I'm a mad despot, I tend to try and control the news, not make it.

There are actually a lot of pages that have news services on them. Maybe you could also feature a good web page a month.

Err. I believe the topic of discussion is getting a Weekly TAS news feed not one from CNN.

I would really like to see the c1000 TAS updates on the Rim war if nothing else. Weekly to monthly would be ideal.

Personally, I'm not a fan of advancing a universe's storyline periodically. Each and everyone's Traveller campaign may go off in different directions.

With that said, if you want to advance a storyline, do what FASA did ... get a prominent author to do a trilogy of a major event. To be honest with all of you, now is a good time to promote Traveller fiction in the mainstream (note I did not say "fan fiction"). Make some iconic Traveller characters.

The topic was Weekly TAS news. Here's an example:
http://www.jtas.org/TNS/index.html

and another:

Both of these pages have some great Traveller content, and I'm sure if you do a search for TAS and Traveller News Service you'll find lots more. Thanks for the ridicule, though. I thought this board was beyond that. Thank you for showing me that this board isn't any different than the rest of the Internet.

Weekly. If possible something like Friday or Saturday, as SJG updates his at the beginning of the week.

Things need not be detailed even the invention TL G vaccum cleaner can be considered news.

Bury the story arcs deep inside, so that when the products that cover those aspects come out, we go: "I thought there was something fishy about..."
