No Traveller at GenCon Indy

Just downloaded the events list and I can't find any Traveller events. No Traveller in any form. Is Traveller dead?

The irony is that while there is a Gencon without Traveller, in the UK there are Travellers without a Gencon. (Gencon UK being 'postponed' this year, otherwise BITS would attend in some form.)

Perhaps you could run some DOGs.

No it simply sleeps. If we could afford to charter a 747 I would say to start in the UK and then pick up everybody at their local international airport. Might take a few days but it would sure be a fun trip.

No, it's not dead. It's Mustered Out and moved on.

I believe that he just wanted to attend as a regular con attendee (player) this time. Running the games took up quite a bit of time for him and ate into time that he could have been spending playing games or hanging with his gaming possee.

Ron is right, as always.

Last year, I was the only one to run Traveller in any form at GenCon, and next year, I'll be doing it again. This year, however, I have a few friends coming that don't ordinarily make it to the Con, and elected to spend my evenings hanging out with them for a change instead of running Traveller games. Next year, I'll be back at it, though. No worries.

May still be able to swing a small pick-up game, though, if things work out right. I'll have to see once we get closer.

Anyone else running any Traveller as a pick-up game at GenCon this year?

I'm going and hoped to play a game in some form. 2 years ago I played GT with a group. There are some pick up RPG games being organized on the GenCon forums. I'm kind busy at the con too otherwise I'd volunteer to run some kinda pickup game.

I was really looking forward to another of your games at GenCon this year Flynn, but I understand why you've opted out.

There is some talk of a pick-up game over in the SJ Games forums...so far, seems to be talk of a Saturday evening game.

I will be running a series of Traveller events (still not sure which rules - Classic, GURPS or D6 System...) at MichiCon, in Detroit, on or about Sept. 16 weekend.

We're still not sure of the exact date of the con, but I plan to post official announcements everywhere I can. I am the RPG Director for the con this year (one of the oldest cons in existence - 32 years).
