Nobles

CosmicGamer

SOC-14 1K
I rolled up a navy character with a high social skill because they made it up to Admiral (soc=12 automatic benefit from rank) and then got another +2 on the mustering out table. Looking for details regarding nobles, all I found was the chart giving sample noble titles based on Social Standing. I have had the book less than a week and have not read everything but I did look in the index and skim through all the pages. Is there any other info on Nobles?

Did Mongoose want us to fill in the blanks from old materials (which I do not own)

Did Mongoose purposely leave details out so that you could create whatever universe you want? As they put it in the book
the Traveller rules can be used to model almost any science fiction novel, movie, or setting, the traditional setting for games is the Third Imperium of Mankind

Did Mongoose leave it out on purpose to sell supplemental materials?

or is there something I'm missing?

The nobility of the OTU was only revealed to us slowly in various articles over the years - there was nothing in the original core Traveller rules above and beyond the mongoose version as far as I can tell (so far).

A full write up of the nobility of the Imperium didn't really exist until GURPS Traveller published their excellent book Nobles. There was plenty of info in the Traveller library Data supplements though.

I'm guessing the role of the nobility in the Imperium will be fleshed out in the Imerium setting books, of which Spinward Marches is due out soon.

The only other version of traveller that I have played was T20. That book is largely complete, while I see significant gaps of information in the mongoose book. I have a feeling that many of those gaps will be filled in with supplements. I expect nobles, and many other things with little or no information on them will be made avaliable to us in the future.
