Now here's a thought...

The first session of my t20 campaign had "zombie style" things shambling around. It scared the hell out of two of my players.
ps - nice to see you outside of the nerd.Board

Hmmm Nanotech vampires.

Think of a medical nanodevice designed to repair humans, that is slightly buggy. It identifies all flesh as damaged, and replaces and multiplies itself. It has never been developed to the point of allowing flesh to regrow and replace itself.

A contaminated person wakes up feeling crap and vomiting what little is left of their internal organs that haven't been converted to nanites. They never realise (until later perhaps) that they are no longer human.

As a control in the lab they were designed the nanites were made to self destruct when exposed to UV so that they could be "corraled" and minimise contaminantion. Suddenly sunlight causes you to burst into flames.

Extremely scary stuff. Fun to play with though.

"They been in that basement an awful long time, Cheif." Nolly said. There was just the slightest - the slightest - hint of unease in his voice.
"Yah," drawled the Chief. His grip on the guassrifle shifting slightly. "They have at that."
The silence was broken only by the faint sound of something slowly scritching its way up the stone staircase. Scritching its way up from the darkness.
"You know how Doc was sayin' how all our cells replace themselves every seven years or so...?"
"What about it, Nolly?"
"Well, Chief...what if that was to happen every seven days...or seven minutes..." Nolly paused to swallow spit that wasn't there. "Or every seven seconds?"
"Nolly..."
"Yeah, Chief?"
"Shut the hell up."
Both men slipped the safeties to "off" on their weapons.
Not that it would do them any good, thought the Chief...

I'm over here beginning to wonder if everyone else has already done the zombie schtick in their Traveller games and I've been missing out on all the fun for the past few years....

If it's a zombies in space adventure you want then check out Transhuman Space: Orbital Decay.

It sucks as a TS adventure, largely because it has nothing to do with the setting - it's really a zombie adventure on a space station in earth orbit. But it could be easily shunted into any scifi setting.

You just made a sale ;)

Seriously though, there have been a couple of Traveller adventures over the years that have encouraged this.
Death Station, and a JTAS adventure with a "werewolf" in it.

Then TNE gave us real cyber-zombies... ;)
