Official Traveller Universe (OTU)

If this has already benn asked then I apologize, but...when is the Official Traveller Universe going to be released? Could someone give some sort of timeline?

The OTU is the campaign setting described by the body of canon documents in various GDW Classic Traveller publications, now available in reprint, as well as the old JTAS and Challenge magazine articles. It has since been expanded on by every version/gaming system that has supported Traveller. It's been in print for quite some time.

T20's contributions have currently been small, such as the Linkworld Cluster pdf, but once the Gateway Sector Sourcebook hits the stands in late March/early April, the OTU will grow once more.

As for timelines, do a quick google search for Traveller timeline, and you'll find a number of them that have been reproduced and placed out on the net. Look for Don M's timeline work, as he only places items on it that have come from publication. It's the best timeline resource I know for the OTU.

Hope this helps,
Flynn

Nuts. Time to track down CT reprints for my T20 game. What books should I be looking for?

That very much depends on what sort of detail you are looking for, plus what sort of area you want to play in.

If you want a frontier style game, then the Spinward Marches or Gateway would be good for you. If you want to play in a develpoed, more settled area then the Solomani Rim would be good.

Also you need to decide on what level of seting you are looking for. DO you want to span across an entire sector or more, or keep to a cluster or subsector?

BElow are the basic books detailing each area. Anything else is just icing on the cake.

Entire IMperium:
Altas of the Imperium (reprinting soon)

Spinward Marches:
Supplement 3 - The Spinward Marches
Behind the Claw (Gurps Traveller)

Solomani Rim:
Supplement 10 - The Solomani Rim
Rim of Fire (Gurps Traveller)

Gateway:
Gateway Domain sourcebook (when it is released)
Old Judges Guild stuff is decanonised but bits may be useful.

Also various Aliens Modules or GT Alien Races books for dominant races in the different areas.

Bear in mind this is just a basic intro to the main play areas list, and all in my opinion. Hope this helps.

Ummm... Flynn do you have a link?
I´m too lazy for a google search and... search for it :D
Thanks

I should post my pdfs myself, but I kept meaning to release a decently formatted version as v2.0...

All I can hope is that it not going to be segmented like the Large Black Books but a single unified product...with some extras thrown in. Afterall, I did buy all those Large Black Books and collected different things on eBay...if I am going to a CD ROM, as well, I would like something extra...designer notes, clip art, etc.

The MT cleanup goes on, apparently in parallel with everything else.

The CT CD apparently will have all the LBBs, Adventures, Supplements, Alien Modules, TTA, TTB, the CT Spinward Marches Map, special supplements 1-3, Games 0-6, and Modules 1-5.

I've asked if he would consider adding the 1st ed of LBB1-3 and High Guard.
