Ok I broke down and ordered some 28mm figures

My boy and his friends do 28mm figures. We are starting a face to face game here at the Casa.

So, I broke down and bought the Core Space starter box... The line is amusing in that it is all pretty much character figures...

Have they gotten better, in the construction terms? I mean there are some wonderful figures in that line, but some are a test to put together...

I'm not sure. I've only seen pictures.

Ok, the amusing thing is now there are tons of character figures available in 28mm.

20 years ago, 15mm was the place for character figures. In science fiction that is.

I could see that being good for wargaming.

15mm is not bad for RPGs, in a lot of ways they are easier to paint as the much less detail than 28mm so getting figures ready for the table is easier. The trick is to use brighter colors. In practice I generally have players chose a theme color then paint that on the rim of the base. (Note this works well with larger figures as well).

In the late 90's there hardly any SF character figures available in 25 or 28mm so 15mm was the choice.
