Old posts and disabilities

One of the things I like about this site, I can go back and read posts and replies to those posts for nearly 20 years now. Many I have completely forgotten about but seeing the intelligent or funny replies is a joy.
This record does help with my TBI based memory loss problems. It helps with reacquiring lost memories and memory associations. When I enlisted, little was known about TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury) long term effects. After exposure to several large detonations and passage of time, I am understanding what the loss of memory really means.
I wish to thank the people who created this web site and those who keep it running. You have helped at least one disabled veteran with a troubling problem.

I understand completely! My being a packrat helped me a lot. Old notebooks. Recapitulating things I did and read when I was younger.

I found that while some stuff never comes back, after 4 years or so it feels like the old brain itself starts to come back. I often find that I am coming to the same solutions after following the same reasoning as before. Assisted on that by both my own notebooks, when I turn up some notes on something I was writing down as I wrestled with it, and by people I spoke to about it telling me I told them the same thing a bit over 20 years ago.
