Welcome to the new COTI server. We've moved the Citizens to a new server. Please let us know in the COTI Website issue forum if you find any problems.
We, the systems administration staff, apologize for this unexpected outage of the boards. We have resolved the root cause of the problem and there should be no further disruptions.
My first thought: This was going to be a question about which star systems the Pentapods inhabit.
Second thought: I imagine Humanity has already adapted Pentapod e-systems through trade and is pretty much the current standard. Although I think toilets would stay the same. "i am NOT taking a dump in that thing! It's got teeth!'
Well, there isn't much actually said about it. I remember a couple of Traveller Digest articles on Pentapod starships, but that was about it.
What I'm thinking is that waste (of whatever form) is passed thru a bio-technical system that converts it into a useful form. Say a system that takes in effluvia and secretes water, basic proteins, or MHD fuels.
And yes, I admit that sitting in a chair with a pulse is kinda eerie...

Pentapod waste reclamation systems would be very efficient, but there would probably still be the 'fear factor' experienced by many human users of penty tech. Especially if the reclamation system was recycling food/water into reusable forms... would you drink water that came from penty-designed gland monster? Even if it was hidden inside a shiny steel box?
